Irina Kuznetcova (2021, November). Rated - Ex. (for Experience): Easy tricks to make pronunciation better (American English). Presented at Akita International University, Akita, Japan.

AbstractPronunciation is one of the most challenging aspects of language learning. The good news is that it’s not really about perfect, native-level sound production; as language learners, our main goal is to speak clearly to make communication effective. In this workshop, I invite you to explore different tips and tricks that will help you make your English speech clearer. We are going to learn how to deal with sounds particularly difficult for speakers of Japanese, such as the sounds in think and this, /r/ and /l/ and more than one consonant in a row (as in sixty /kst/). We’ll also look into some fun intonation patterns and little articulation challenges. In addition to hands-on practice during the session, you will also learn about helpful tools to keep practicing your pronunciation in the future. Let’s learn together!
